Nearly 60 years ago, your parents and grandparents, the residents and voters of Emanuel County, saw a need for a community hospital and nursing home…and filled it.  From blank paper and bare ground, they committed the energy, resources and money to build a modern hospital for the general good of the community.

Today, that need is greater than ever.  Modern medicine, with state of the art diagnostics and medical interventions, when applied within the first minutes of onset, can greatly improve the outcome of many medical crises.  In the event of a stroke, heart attack or major injury, the next closest hospital can literally be a lifetime away.

Over time, the Emanuel County Hospital Board has wisely, again and again, invested in facilities and equipment to keep Emanuel Medical Center on the technological edge.  Today, thanks to a $1.25 million dollar upgrade, we boast a radiology department second to none in the state and a Department of Emergency Medicine that is the envy of many larger communities.

We, the physicians, nurses, technologists and employees of Emanuel Medical Center are very proud of this hospital and the work we do here every day.  But, proud as we are, we never forget that this hospital is yours; yours in an emergency, yours for CT’s and MRI’s, yours to welcome your newborn into our community, yours for lab work and rehab, yours to provide care for your family…yours to enjoy a great lunch in our friendly cafeteria.  Come visit your hospital.
