Emanuel Prompt Care
Emanuel Prompt Care offers non-emergency care on Monday and Friday 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 Noon – 8:00 PM. The office is located on the second floor at Emanuel Medical Center. Emanuel Prompt Care was opened in August of 2009 in an effort to ensure Emanuel and surrounding counties access to affordable non-emergency healthcare, particulary at those times most area doctors’ offices are closed. Prompt Care does not see children under 2 years of age. Prompt Care is operated by Nurse Practitioner, Brenda Thompson; Licensed Practical Nurses, Sandra Hicks and Betty George, and Medical Assistance, Claudia Tillman. Prompt Care Medical Director is Dr. Vijitha Prasad.
Brenda Thompson has called Swainsboro her home since moving here in 1973. She is married to Barry Thompson and has three children, Mark, Blake, and Joshua. She graduated from Piedmont Hospital School of Nursing in 1983 as a registered nurse. She then completed her BSN at Georgia College and State University and her Masters of Nursing as an Advance Practice Nurse in Family Practice from Georgia Southern University. Brenda is currently at Emanuel Prompt Care as a Family Nurse Practitioner and as the clinic director.
