The facility is anchored by a base of physicians specializing in family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, neonatology, general surgery, and psychiatry.

Twenty-four hour ancillaries include emergency department, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, and cardiopulmonary services.

We Make Relocation Easy:
Swainsboro and Emanuel County value the physicians who serve our community. We offer qualifying physicians establishing new practices the following incentives:

▪ All transportation and visitation expenses related to the recruitment process

▪ A guaranteed net income for up to two years

▪ The cost of setting up and managing your office or a reasonable monthly subsidy to assist with these expenses for up to two years.

▪ Household moving expenses by a hospital-approved vendor

▪ free or reduced rent in a hospital-owned building for two years

▪ assistance with loans

▪ Marketing assistance and reasonable advertising

Moreover, all new physicians will be eligible for a state income tax credit of $5,000 for practicing in a rural area.

Enjoy a Broad Patient Base:
Emanuel Medical Center reaches out to the community through several regional programs that increase the patient base and limit unpaid medical bills. Members of our medical staff work with the East Central Georgia Health Cooperative, a rural health network through which nine counties pool their strengths and resources to improve healthcare within the region. Physicians in this cooperative interact professionally and refer patients to one another when specialty care is needed. They have formed a regional medical society.

The hospital also operates a case management program in conjunction with the health department and state agencies. Four case managers serve medically needy people in our area, helping them to access care and practice preventive health. By promoting preventative health, unnecessary office and emergency room visits are reduced, decreasing uncompensated physician services.

Benefit From an Expanding Economy:
The stable and growing economy in Emanuel County is based largely on manufacturing and agriculture, but an active development authority has also attracted other businesses to the area. Thanks to the authority’s hard work and creativity, the county is in the process of developing a high-tech park. One high-tech firm has agreed to relocate, and other leads are being pursued.

Area residents don’t have to fight traffic every day, yet they enjoy easy access to other parts of the country. Interstate 16 runs through the county, connecting to Interstates 75 and 95. Augusta, Macon, and Savannah, Georgia are approximately 80 miles away, and Atlanta, Georgia is only a two-and-a-half-hour drive. Yet the cost of living in Swainsboro is approximately 20 percent less than Augusta or Savannah and up to 50 percent less than Atlanta.
