Emanuel Medical Center Named Among Nation’s Best for Nurse Communication

Emanuel Medical Center (EMC) has been recognized as one of the top hospitals in the United States for nurse communication, earning a prestigious 5-Star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS is the federal agency that oversees hospital quality ratings and ensures patients have access to clear, reliable information about their care.

A 5-Star rating in nurse communication conveys that patients consistently reported that EMC nurses listened carefully, explained things clearly, and treated them with respect. Only 10 hospitals in Georgia received this honor.

“Our nurses go above and beyond to make sure patients feel heard, cared for, and supported,” said Mary Radford, Chief Nursing Officer at EMC. “This recognition is a reflection of their compassion and dedication, and I couldn’t be more proud of our team.”

This achievement follows EMC’s recent 5-Star cleanliness rating from CMS, which placed the hospital among the cleanest in the country.
