EMC Engineering Services, Inc. has made a generous contribution of $35,000 to Emanuel Medical Center through the Georgia HEART program. This unique program allows individuals and businesses to allocate their state income tax dollars directly to qualifying rural Georgia hospitals.
The Georgia HEART program is vital for rural hospitals like Emanuel Medical Center. It not only helps sustain vital healthcare services but also fuels investments in facilities and technology that broaden access and improve the quality of care.
With the support of Georgia HEART contributions, Emanuel Medical Center recently completed the expansion and redesign of its Emergency Department and a refresh of its Intensive Care Unit. The Emergency Department renovation added a low-acuity treatment area, dedicated mental health rooms, and additional patient care rooms, all designed to reduce wait times, improve efficiency, and elevate the overall emergency care experience for patients and families.
“EMC Engineering Services, Inc. truly appreciates the community leaders and citizens in the places that we live and work in,” said CEO Chuck Perry. “EMC has been providing quality professional services in Emanuel County for over 20 years. When the opportunity with Georgia HEART was presented to our management team, Emanuel Medical Center was the obvious choice for EMC to invest our resources. After a tour of the facility with Damien, I could see the benefit that the contribution would make in the community through remodeling and expansion of services. The staff at Emanuel Medical Center are great folks that care about their patients, especially one of my favorite nieces – Faith Paige!”
Earlier this year, Emanuel Medical Center was recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as one of the top hospitals in the nation for nurse communication and cleanliness. Over the past decade, it has consistently earned top marks in patient care and performance from CMS.
“We are grateful to EMC Engineering Services for their generous support through the Georgia HEART program. Partnerships like this directly strengthen our ability to provide exceptional care to our patients and ensure that Emanuel Medical Center continues to grow and meet the healthcare needs of our community,” said Damien Scott, CEO of Emanuel Medical Center.
As a not-for-profit hospital, Emanuel Medical Center serves Emanuel County and surrounding areas with a wide range of services, including a Level IV Trauma Center Emergency Department, Med Surg, ICU, Senior Behavioral Health Unit, Surgical Department, and the Emanuel County Nursing Home. It also operates eight clinics across the county, offering family practice, internal medicine, prompt care, and specialty services.
