Emanuel Medical Center (EMC) has been recognized by LifeLink of Georgia, in partnership with the Georgia Hospital Association, with an Honorable Mention for the prestigious Barbara and John Ware Donate Life Hospital Award. The award was presented by Jonathan Stanford, Hospital Development Liaison for LifeLink of Georgia. Accepting the honor on behalf of EMC were Mary Radford, Chief Nursing Officer, and Martha Anders, Director of Accreditation, Quality & Risk Management, and Compliance Officer.
The Barbara and John Ware Donate Life Hospital Award recognizes hospital partners that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to saving and enhancing lives through organ and tissue donation. This recognition highlights Emanuel Medical Center’s longstanding dedication to education, advocacy, and compassionate care surrounding donation.
Since 2018, Emanuel Medical Center has proudly organized and hosted a variety of Donate Life Month activities both within the hospital and throughout the community. These efforts have included annual Donate Life flag-raising ceremonies, social media education campaigns, Donate Life walks honoring transplant recipients, and Blue and Green Spirit celebrations, along with other creative initiatives. Collectively, these activities honor donors and their families while promoting awareness, understanding, and community engagement.
EMC’s commitment to donation is also reflected in its clinical excellence. The hospital has not missed a tissue donation referral call in more than ten years, an extraordinary achievement that underscores the vigilance and dedication of its care teams. During that time, 16 individuals have been honored as tissue donors, leaving a powerful legacy of healing and hope.
Emanuel Medical Center is proud to partner with LifeLink of Georgia in raising awareness, honoring donors and their families, and celebrating the extraordinary gift of life.
