Citizens Bank of Swainsboro has once again demonstrated its deep commitment to Emanuel County and the local community by contributing $250,000 to Emanuel Medical Center (EMC) through the Georgia HEART Program. This latest investment builds on a longstanding partnership and furthers EMC’s mission to deliver quality healthcare close to home.
The Georgia HEART Program allows Georgia businesses and individuals to direct their state income tax dollars to qualifying rural hospitals. Contributions through the program have been transformative for EMC, funding improvements across the organization, including the installation of state-of-the-art mammography equipment, the addition of an infusion clinic, the establishment of Emanuel Medical Prompt Care, enhancements to the nursing home, upgrades to the ICU, the purchase of essential medical and surgical equipment, and a major expansion of the Emergency Department.
“Citizens Bank’s continued generosity is a testament to what is possible when a community rallies behind its local hospital,” said Damien Scott, CEO of Emanuel Medical Center. “Because of partnerships like this one, EMC has been able to invest in the equipment, services, and facilities to expand access to quality healthcare, right here in Emanuel County. We are grateful for Citizens Bank’s unwavering support.”
“Our bank remains focused on supporting our community and helping create the highest possible quality of life,” said Citizens Bank of Swainsboro CEO, Zac Frye. “Emanuel Medical Center continues to provide excellent service to our community, and our continual Georgia HEART Program contributions help build on that strong foundation.”
The Citizens Bank of Swainsboro was chartered in 1900 in Emanuel County, and has bank locations in Swainsboro, Dublin, and Statesboro (Bulloch First).
The Georgia HEART program offers a unique opportunity for taxpayers to not only keep their state tax dollars local, but to invest them directly in improving healthcare for themselves, their families, and their neighbors.
EMC's commitment to excellence has earned national and statewide recognition, including a place among Georgia Trend's Top Small Hospitals, a top national ranking for nurse communication and cleanliness, and a recent redesignation as a Level IV Trauma Center. The community investment made possible through Georgia HEART plays a direct role in achievements like these.
