Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

BILLING REPRESENTATIVE II

Performs duties necessary to file Medicaid and Medicaid CMO’s to collect balances payable from all Medicaid payors. Also maintains all bulletins and billing manuals.  Assists in training any new employees.

Job Requirements

 

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED.  Must have typing skills of 35WPM, minimum. Previous experience or education using a PC, preferred.

Previous experience in hospital or other medical facility in the Business Office is preferred.

 

 

PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to follow proper lifting techniques, lift up to 25 pounds and push wheelchairs with patient weights up to 250 lbs.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions of the position without compromising patient care.
  • Ability to input data into computer.
  • Ability to speak and hear clearly.
  • Limited, possible communicable disease exposure.
  • Requires exceptional interpersonal skills to be able to interview and obtain information from patients and interact with other hospital staff and outside persons.
  • Work requires analytical abilities to determine priorities where options are limited and to gather information necessary to complete admission registration.  Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced area, where the performance and concentration of several tasks may be required simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and communicate in English; ability to speak Spanish, preferred.
