Job Description

: Responsible for performing radiographic and nuclear medicine procedures using imaging modalities applying prescribed ionizing radiation or nuclear isotopes for diagnostic procedures in the hospital and long-term care facilities, on patients of all ages (neonate, infant, toddler, child, adolescent, young adult, adult, geriatric). Responsible for maintaining the nuclear medicine department in accordance with all guidelines set by the NRC and all state regulations. Operates radiographic equipment, develops film, applies principles of radiation safety for patients, general public and self, evaluates radiographs for technical quality. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures. Aids in the orientation and education of radiology department and hospital staff.  Participates in performance improvement activities to assure highest standards of care.

Job Requirements

Education: Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program or Nuclear Medicine program. (Or senior radiologic technology student)

License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Registry eligible or senior radiologic technology student preparing to take the registry exam.

Experience: Radiologic technology clinical training and/or training specific to nuclear medicine.
